AEC Annual Congress 2008
The AEC Annual Congress 2008 took place in Aarhus (Denmark), a small metropolis that offers an abundance of opportunities, fully meeting the needs of the most experienced and demanding traveller. The Royal Academy of Music, which has kindly offered to host the congress in its excellent and newly built facilities, plays an important role in the musical activities of the city. The new building is surrounded by some of the best cultural institutions in Aarhus, allowing the Academy to cooperate with the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra and The National Danish Opera. Following the highly successful AEC Congress 2007 in Strasbourg, during which the results of the first cycle of the ERASMUS Network for Music ‘Polifonia’ and the AEC ‘Accreditation’ and ‘Mundus Musicalis’ projects were presented, the AEC Congress 2008 addressed a series of new themes in the framework of ‘Polifonia’ second cycle, such as research in conservatoires, instrumental and vocal teacher training, and international strategies in conservatoires. The Annual General Assembly of AEC member institutions also took place, including the popular information forum. In addition to the working programme of the Congress, the event also included various music performances throughout the sessions and several original social events. Printed versions of the registration brochures and additional information were also distributed to all AEC members. Presentations AEC Congress 2008:
