AEC Early Music Platform Meeting 2010
The 2nd AEC Early Music Platform Meeting took place in The Hague (The Netherlands) on 22-23 January 2010, in cooperation with the Royal Conservatoire.
The main theme of the meeting was the role of research in early music programmes. A key-note speech was given by early music specialist Ton Koopman, followed by sessions that included research taking place in early music by representatives in various conservatoires in Europe. In order to involve the next generation of professional musicians in the discussions of the EMP Meeting, the AEC Early Music Platform Preparatory Working Group invited institutions to send proposals for presentations by students in 2nd cycle and 3rd cycle study programmes related to the conference topic on ‘Research activities in Early Music Programmes'. Two sessions took place with 4 student presentations.
Delegates had also the possibility to attend an opera performance of Benjamin Britten performed by students of the Dutch National Opera Academy on Saturday evening.
