The 3rd AEC Early Music Platform Meeting will take place at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Geneve (Switzerland), 14-15 January 2011.
The AEC Early Music Platform
The AEC has launched a new platform, the AEC Early Music Platform. The very successful formula of the AEC Pop and Jazz Platform will now be applied to early music education. The AEC Early Music Platform is open to all AEC institutions with a profound interest in early music education; i.e. institutions that are:
- providing programmes in early music,
- providing courses in early music as part of classical music programmes,
- planning to start programmes in early music in near future. Meetings
Every year the AEC will organise an Early Music Platform Meeting in cooperation with a conservatoire. The meeting will be a place for networking and topics relevant for Early Music Departments will be presented and discussed.
Objectives and Aims
The overall objective of the platform is to support and promote early music education in European higher music education. Specific aims of the platform are: - to exchange and disseminate general information about early music programmes of the participating institutions (study plans, curricula, special events, etc.), - to support student and teacher exchanges (ECTS, preparatory visits, etc.), - to support projects, seminars, intensive projects, etc, about academic issues of didactical nature (curriculum development, styles and genres, teaching and learning, etc.). Working group
A working group has been set up to coordinate the activities of the platform.
