AEC Early Music Platform Meeting 2011

The next AEC Early Music Platform Meeting will take place in Geneve, 14-15 January 2011 at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Geneve (Switzerland). The aim of the AEC Early Music Platform (EMP) is to bring together heads of departments, teachers and students in the field of early music to discuss relevant issues and to promote European cooperation in this field. 

Topics of the meeting will be:

• 'The limits of written transmission' by invited key-note speaker
• 'Historical Pedagogy: from treatises to direct transmission; pedagogical techniques within historical methods and world music'
• Presentations on 'Career Development within the Early Music Education' will be given by speakers Enrico Bellei and Alain Pacquier as well as former students from different European conservatoires.
• Session providing examples of professional integration activities at different institutions

Call for presentations

In preparation of the Session 3 on ‘Professional integration activities at different institutions’, the AEC Early Music Platform preparatory working group invites participants to send proposals for presentations related to the topic. The session will present 3 examples of different approaches of integrated activities. Those institutions interested in giving a presentation should send proposals with a title and an abstract of no more than 300 words. The total duration of the presentation should not last longer than 15 minutes. The deadline for submission of the proposals is 30 November 2010. Proposals should be sent electronically to aecinfo@aecinfo.org and a selection will be made by the preparatory working group.

Delegates will also have the possibility to attend a concert of the Baroque Orchestra of the HEM Early Music Centre.
