AEC Annual Congress 2010

The AEC Annual Congress 2010 will take place at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, largest academic centre in the country with a dramatic history that nevertheless brought surprising architectural renovation and urban requalification. Thanks to its many prestigious educational institutions and a broad range of employment opportunities, Warsaw is a young, dynamic city worth exploring.

The Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, this year’s congress host, is among the largest schools of music in Poland as well as one of the oldest in Europe. The Warsaw School is proud of its patron and celebrates the 200th anniversary of the patron’s birth and the date of the foundation. The University celebrates the double occasion with a special concert programmes and a series of scientific and artistic events, one of which is the 2010 AEC Congress.

The AEC Congress will continue with the topical day addressing the theme of the sustainable conservatoire which will be followed by breakout group discussions. Information about the results of the second 3-year cycle of the ERASMUS Network for Music ‘Polifonia’ will also be presented. Furthermore, the AEC Congress 2010 programme will form small discussion groups based on pre-formulated questions on the topic.

This year’s congress will provide possibility to attend the sightseeing trip "Warsaw: In Chopin's footsteps", which will be planned for Sunday 7 Nov 2010 from 10am till 2pm. The trip is free of charge and delegates should register for it at the registration form.
